The presented project is about the conception and the subsequent production of an audiovisual
piece classified within the Creation Documentary. It lies with the constant restlessness to
understand, learn and unlearn people, with the utopian idea of being able to build a healthier
and more human world.
The BLINDS cinematographic work is a documentary portrait that narrates two people lives (my
grandmother and my neighbour) through their personal items. My grandmother’s name is Joana, she is 78 years old and lives alone. My neighbour, Francesc, is 63 years old and lives with his dog called Boira. It could be true, but also a lie. It is not important. Joana could be named Carmen and Francesc could be your father. Or yourself. They are apparently anonymous people, without a distinctive recognition. However, they are a found of wisdom and part of popular knowledge.
With the clear premise of letting the story flow and mutate during the process, I propose a visual
tour with my camera, as if it was an open window to intimacy, joy, grief and, ultimately, a
person's life. Unknown life and, at the same time, so similar to you.
The project is part of the Bachelor's Degree Final Project in Journalism.
